I’VE SEEN ONE IN PERSON!! And I thought I’d only ever see one kept in a carcoon at the proper temperature and humidity next to the 918 someone had to buy to get dibs on one of these. I almost feel sorry for the 911R owners....Since the next GT3 is coming with a manual and whatnot. The 911R is no longer special, if it ever was lol. :p

I think it’ll still be special like the 911 Sport Classic due to it’s somewhat-cleaner appearance due to the missing GT3 wing. Similar to the 911 Sport Classic offering the widebody look of the Carrera4 but keeping it RWD. Also, both the 911R and the Sport Classic do a damn good job of looking retro without going full-Mustang/Camaro/Challenge levels of mid-2000s retro.

I dislike this car for everything it represents. A limited edition created only because of a cheap feature that the masses want, destined for collectors who have 918s.

I tried to get one when they were new but Porsche denied my request for 2 reasons:

1. I wasn’t a Porsche VIP. I now have 2 P cars but I bought both used so Porsche doesn’t care about me :/

2. I didn’t have enough monies.

Ahhhh I want this car so bad. It is exactly what the 911 should be; understated, yet a beast. I’d take this over the GT3 just because it is missing the (frankly) rediculousnrear wing.
